The Box Project

 

How do you take only 5 index cards, 10" of tape, and design a box that will support 50 lbs.?!?

 

An excellent question your proport!!!

 

The Box Project is, at its core, a mathematical science experiment. Students will use the measurements below to inform them on designing a box that will support the weight of up to 50 lbs. Students must use their prior knowledge of geometric shapes [CCSS.Math.Content.6.GA] in relation to concepts of physical properties [NCES 6.P.2.3] 

 

It's the students job to figure out how to get this work. :)
